The BCAN Corpus Christi Chapter was formed by individuals whose lives have been touched and greatly impacted by bladder cancer. Although bladder cancer is the 6th most commonly diagnosed form of cancer, there remains a shockingly low level of awareness. Bladder cancer has a recurrence rate of 50-80%, yet many of us had never heard of this disease until it personally affected our lives.
We are dedicated to supporting people with bladder cancer, and their loved ones, along their bladder cancer journey. Whether you or a loved one is newly diagnosed, currently being treated, or recently lost a loved one to bladder cancer, we are here for you.
We increase public awareness and provide education and support through the distribution of educational literature, promotion of BCAN’s webinar series, attendance at community health fairs, and organization of our local BCAN Walk to End Bladder Cancer. We also assist in the advancement of bladder cancer research through additional fundraising activities and events throughout the year.
