There are many different ways to help – here are just some ideas.
Join BCAN’s Medical Outreach Program —
BCAN needs more volunteers to contact urology practices to make sure that everyone who is newly diagnosed with bladder cancer receives a copy of the BCAN handbook “Bladder Cancer Basics for the Newly Diagnosed”. For more information about volunteering on this important part of BCAN’s outreach work to the medical profession please click here.
Fundraising —
organize activities in your local community – a golf, tennis or soccer tournament, a fun run, a bowl-a-thon; a community car wash; a dinner party, a picnic; a quilting or knitting bee. Involve friends and family. These can be small events – everything helps. Be part of a bladder cancer cure team and take part in an event. For an example, see Randy’s story.
Write for the Cure —
BCAN’s grassroots on-going fundraising campaign is called “Write for the Cure” and is a simple way to help raise awareness and funds. Learn more about Write for the Cure. For an example, see Jacqueline’s story.
Raise Awareness —
organize a walk in your community for BCAN’s third annual Walk For Bladder Cancer on Saturday May 4th, 2013.
Online help —
use your computer to create a personal online fundraising page for BCAN’s awareness, research and support programs – use this to attract funds for a specific activity, maybe a birthday or other celebration, or a sports event such as a marathon you and your friends can enter.
Do whatever you can to help BCAN fulfill its ultimate goal – find a cure for bladder cancer.
