FDA’s Proposed Labels for Cigarette Packages

The comment period for public input about what warnings should appear on labels of cigarette packets has closed, but thank you to everyone who submitted their comments and told the FDA that a warning about bladder cancer should be included!

The FDA is considering nine new text warnings, including one that says “Cigarettes Cause Cancer.”  Click here to see the four pictures that could be used with that text and to learn more about the proposed rule.

The fourth picture, which we have posted here, says “Cigarettes cause throat, lung, mouth cancer.”  We believe that bladder cancer should be added to this list.
