Walk for Bladder Cancer

Walk for Bladder Cancer – Planning Guide

On Saturday, May 5, 2012, survivors, caregivers, loved ones and friends from across the country will be walking to raise money for bladder cancer research and education, and to increase awareness of this under-recognized and under-funded disease.

Walk Guide

It’s easy to Walk for Bladder Cancer. You can walk by yourself, or with friends and family. You can walk at a local park, or down your city’s main street. It’s up to you.  These are  five simple steps you can follow to start planning your walk:

  1. Decide to make a difference by Walking for Bladder Cancer
  2. Pick a time and place where you can walk on Saturday, May 5 – learn more about setting up an easy walk
  3. Ask friends and family to support you by walking with you and donating to BCAN – get tips on how to ask for support and set up an online fundraising page
  4. Enjoy the walk, and know that you are making a difference – find out how to publicize your walk so more people will join you
  5. Thank everyone who has helped you

Want to learn more? Download the Walk for Bladder Cancer Guide (pdf). The guide goes into a little more detail about the planning you might want to do – but all it really comes down to are those five simple steps.  You can also click the links above to get all the information that’s in the guide, including tips on Organizing, Fundraising, and Publicizing.

Have a question that the guide doesn’t answer? Email BCAN staff member Janet at BCday@bcan.org or call at 888-901-BCAN.

In addition to the guide, BCAN will send you regular emails with tips and advice. We are also setting up webinars that you can join for more information about organizing your walk and creating your StayClassy page. Updates will be emailed to you and posted on the Home Base page. Let us know if there is more we can do!
