INSIDE POLITICS 2008 To help understand a presidential race which by the day becomes only more complex and highly charged, BCAN is sponsoring a political roundtable on May 14 at the National Press Club, Washington DC, with some of the most knowledgeable observers of presidential politics. Bladder cancer survivor Bob Schieffer of CBS News will be joined by David Brooks of the New York Times, David Gregory of NBC News, and Gwen Ifill of PBS who will discuss this most exciting presidential contest and take questions from the audience Cocktail Reception 7:00 p.m. Reservations are a must and may be made by calling the BCAN office at 301-215-9099. Telephone Workshop Series on Cancer Survivorship This free series offers cancer survivors, their families, friends and healthcare professionals practical information to help them cope with concerns and issues that arise after treatment ends. Part I, which took place on April 22nd was entitled, The Importance of Communicating with Your Doctor About Follow-Up Care. Part II, Rediscovering Intimacy in Your Relationships Following Treatment, will take place on May 13th. And Part III, Survivors Too: Family, Friends and Loved Ones, will take place on June 24th. All of the workshops take place from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Eastern Time. These workshops are free – no phone charges apply. However, pre-registration is required.
