Will my bladder cancer keep returning?
Fortunately, the great majority (approximately 75%) of bladder cancers are diagnosed at an early (i.e. non-muscle invasive) stage, when the cancer is more easily treated. But, bladder cancer is often a repeat offender and has a high likelihood of recurrence. That’s why bladder cancer survivors must expect close follow up by their doctor who will perform regular procedures such as cystoscopy, which will help your doctor look for abnormal growths in your bladder, and urinary cytology and other tests that will look for cancer cells in your urine.
