How often will I need to return to my doctor for surveillance and examination?

The most commonly used approach involves patient follow-up on a regular basis as determined by your doctor.  However, if you are diagnosed with very low risk disease (for example, a single small low-grade noninvasive tumor), your doctor may monitor you less frequently. The American Urological Association further suggests that the monitoring schedule be adapted according to individual risk, with more intensive follow-up for high-risk.
