    Dr. Belldegrun is a Professor of Urology, Chief of the Division of Urologic Oncology and holds the Roy and Carol Doumani Chair in Urologic Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Belldegrun is an internationally recognized expert in the surgical and medical management of urological cancers, designing and conducting large-scale clinical trials, and in the development of innovative therapies for patients with localized and metastatic kidney, bladder and prostate cancer.

    His research laboratory at UCLA has been a pioneer in the fields of genetic cancer therapy, immunotherapy, cancer vaccines and targeted molecular therapy for urological malignancies. He is the principal investigator for an ongoing large multi-site NIH/NCI sponsored study of Erlinib and Polyphenon to prevent the recurrence of Tobacco-related, superficial Bladder Cancer. He has authored 3 textbooks, over 350 scientific publications, and over 280 abstracts – all with an emphasis on various aspects of urologic oncology. Dr. Belldegrun also serves on the Board of Directors, as well as Medical and Scientific Boards, of several privately held and public biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and holds several patents.Dr. Belldegrun completed his medical degree at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, his urological surgery residency at Harvard Medical School, and his oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NIH). He is certified by the American Board of Urology, is a member of the American Society of Genitourinary Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
