Arie Belldegrun, M.D., FACS His research laboratory at UCLA has been a pioneer in the fields of genetic cancer therapy, immunotherapy, cancer vaccines and targeted molecular therapy for urological malignancies. He is the principal investigator for an ongoing large multi-site NIH/NCI sponsored study of Erlinib and Polyphenon to prevent the recurrence of Tobacco-related, superficial Bladder Cancer. He has authored 3 textbooks, over 350 scientific publications, and over 280 abstracts – all with an emphasis on various aspects of urologic oncology. Dr. Belldegrun also serves on the Board of Directors, as well as Medical and Scientific Boards, of several privately held and public biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and holds several patents.Dr. Belldegrun completed his medical degree at the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, his urological surgery residency at Harvard Medical School, and his oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NIH). He is certified by the American Board of Urology, is a member of the American Society of Genitourinary Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. |
