Dr. Bernard Bochner is a urologic surgeon at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center whose clinical focus is the surgical management of bladder cancer and the application of advanced techniques for the reconstruction of the lower urinary tract in both men and women. Dr. Bochner’s research involves the development of gene therapy strategies for the treatment of bladder and prostate cancers. He is evaluating the use of various viral-based systems to deliver therapeutic genes to the bladder and prostate. He is also studying the role of new blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) in the progression of bladder and prostate tumors, with the goal of developing applications of potential anti-angiogenesis therapy.
